Meet Dr. LiU

Her Training & Certifications

Dr. Lingguang Liu, Ph.D., L.Ac. is a licensed acupuncturist in the state of Texas certified in both Acupuncture and Chinese herbology by the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).  

  • National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Board Certified Diplomate (NCCAOM) 
  • Licensed Acupuncturist in the State of Texas by the Texas Medical Board 
  • Licensed Acupuncturist in the State of Minnesota by the Minnesota Medical Board 
  • Certificate of Advanced Training of Guo's Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatments for Infertility
  • Doctorate of Neurology from the University of Hong Kong
  • Master of Acupuncture in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Hubei University of Chinese Medicine
  • Bachelor of Acupuncture in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Hubei University of Chinese Medicine

Dr. Liu completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at the Hubei University of Chinese Medicine, receiving her Master’s degree in acupuncture and moxibustion in 2008. She then attended the University of Hong Kong to continue her doctoral research at the Li Ka-Shing Faculty of Medicine, gaining her Ph.D. in neurology. Since 2003, Dr. Liu has worked in various clinical settings, including the Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University, Wuhan Union Hospital, and the Wuhan Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital, where she was a resident physician in the Department of Acupuncture-Moxibustion. As part of her studies at the University of Hong Kong, Dr. Liu contributed to research projects which focused on the use of acupuncture as neuroprotection against ischemic stroke. She has given presentations at international conferences in Hong Kong and the United States. In 2013, Dr. Liu moved to Minnesota to start her teaching career in an American Chinese medical academy, practicing Chinese medicine as an acupuncturist at the same time. She spent a lot of time in clinics with both her patients and students, contributing to her passion of helping people whom could be blessed by Traditional Chinese Medicine.
